  This is an introductory course designed for people who have no prior knowledge of Italian.

ITALIAN BEGINNER 1                                        8-week session - $100                               Wednesday 6:00–7:00pm ET

 This course is designed for students who were enrolled in the Introduction to Italian Class (Tues. 6:00) and Italian Beginner 1 class (Wed.

 5:00) in Spring Session 1 (the two classes are merging) or anyone who has some previous exposure to Italian and does not need an   Introductory course.

  • Course topics this session: City vocabulary (identifying places within a city, asking for and giving directions), an introduction to present tense "ere" and "ire" verbs in order to facilitate conversation.
  • This course does not require a textbook.

ITALIAN BEGINNER 2                                     8-week session - $100                                 Tuesday 7:00–8:00pm ET

 This course is designed for students who were enrolled in the Beginner 2 class (Tues. 7:00) in Spring Session 1 (the class title remains the     same) or anyone who has knowledge of beginner Italian grammar (i.e. present tense are-ere-ire verbs).

  • Course topics this session: house vocabulary (identifying and describing rooms and furniture), verbs related to household chores, prepositions, irregular verbs

  This course is designed for students who have studies all grammar concepts that are typically included in a comprehensive Italian

  language textbook. 

  • Course topics this session: Continuing Chapter 6 of “Ponti” (vocabulary related to holidays and traditions, passato remoto tense, trapassato remoto tense, indefinite adjectives and pronouns). There are also an Italian history reading selection from Easy Italian Reader. There is also an Italian history reading selection from "Easy Italian Reader" and an immigration story selection from "Non Soltanto un Baule"(readings provided by the instructor).

  This course is designed for students who have had several years of Italian classes, are proficient with the grammar, and want to use it in

  the context of reading and conversation. 

  • ​Course topics this session:  Review of the subjunctive with expressions of doubt and conjunctions; the past subjunctive ​.  There will be an Italian short story selection in addition to an Italian history reading selection.
  • This course does not require a textbook and follows grammar concepts in "Immagina" - 1st edition
